The Pittsburgh Steelers are a classy, stand up organization right? Regardless of if you’re a fan of them or not, you have to admit that fact. They normally take care of their own and put up with a lot in order to keep talented players. Look no further than their ass of a quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger. So when that team decides to trade you because you are too much of problem, that should be a red flag for you and the league.
Antonio Brown, to be blunt, is a clown.
Ummm..little word of caution. Watch out when you search “antonio brown gif” into Google. Apparently that name is big in the uuuhhh, adult film industry….
From the sideline antics to the recording of private conversations in the locker room to constantly putting himself before the team. All of that got him shipped to Oakland. From Big Ben to Derek Carr. From Mike Tomlin to Jon Gruden. From a perennial playoff team to a team that hasn’t been good since the early 2000’s. Brown did that to himself. And anyone who was hoping the change of scenery would change AB, you are sadly mistaken.
A lot was made about the guy showing up to training camp in a hot air balloon. I, for one, don’t think that was a big deal. Brown loves to be the center of attention. It’s not like he did it in the middle of a game or showed up with a Brink’s truck like that idiot Ramsey did with the Jags. No harm, no foul. Just a showman being a showman.
But then we got the hideous picture of Brown’s feet. To save some people from throwing up, I won’t post the picture here, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen feet in worse condition than I did in that pic. My god just thinking about it makes me gag.
Apparently Antonio Brown had a cryotherapy mishap where he didn’t wear the correct footwear or something like that when going in the cryo chamber.
A mistake that has cryotherapists ‘baffled’ I guess..
“He would have had to have known that something was going on because your feet start to burn and then they tingle and they turn bright red,” Burnett said of Brown. “He went far past burning, tingling and numbness to have these kinds of results. But it just goes to show that the provider who stuck him in there didn’t know what they were doing.”
Kind of a weird situation. You gotta think that AB has had this treatment before so how would he go in there without the proper equipment or at the very least realize that something was up? I don’t know. But I can’t put much blame on him. The dingbats who administered this test should be praying that everything’s all good, because this seems to fall squarely on their shoulders.
But this is the real issue here. Antonio Brown isn’t talking to anyone about anything anymore, including his own team!
***Of course I have to say, this report could be false, like all reports have the possibility of being. But it seems pretty on brand, wouldn’t ya say?***
I mean come on man, are we gonna go through the same old shit in Oakland? You JUST got to this team, you show up with a pretty serious injury, and now you aren’t even letting the team know what’s going on? How does that make any sense?
But then you have to think of the player in question here. Antonio Brown didn’t care about the Steelers and he sure as hell doesn’t care about the Raiders. He only cares about himself and his brand. How can you expect a player like that to extend the courtesy to his team by letting them know what the hell is going on?
The Raiders paid a premium for your talents, plan on having you play a vital role in their offense this year, and this is how you repay them? Ghosting them? This training camp is pivotal to the success of this team with so many new parts and one of the most important players to get ingrained quickly would be Antonio Brown with his new QB.
This is is why people seem to come down hard on players like AB or OBJ when things like this happen. With a player who doesn’t stir up controversy or cause distractions off the field, this would be looked at differently. The microscope that gets put on certain players is, more often than not, earned by said player.
This is what’s wrong with a lot of the ‘diva’ players in the league nowadays. They put themselves first and put the team second. I’m not really blaming Brown for the injury itself at this moment, but you’d think he’d keep in constant contact with Oakland about the status of what’s going on with him. But instead, he seems to only be thinking about himself once again. He could show up next week. He could text them and say he’s out for 2 months. You’d have no idea because he’s keeping everyone in the dark.
And that’s not the sign of a champion. That’s the sign of a selfish player.
