Can Kyrie Irving Go Away?

If I have to hear another segment or see another article written about Kyrie freaking Irving I think I’m gonna lose it.

The guy is a fake, wannabe superstar but all he’ll ever be is a supremely talented third piece on a championship contender. I am sick of hearing where he may go and who he’s gonna take with him.

I think I speak for every fan of the Boston Celtics when I say, please, for the love of God, Kyrie, don’t come back. We’ve seen your leadership. We’ve seen you give up in playoff games. We’ve seen you say to an entire TD Garden that you plan on resigning and then backtracking ever since. We’ve seen this exact team succeed without you. Go away. To reunite with your little frenemy Bron Bron.

Speaking of which…

Seeing these two reunite would almost make too much sense. You have two of the most dramatic, self-obsessed stars ever who had a messy breakup but are apparently kissing and making up.

Our useless, Lebron-coattail-riding friend Brian Windhorst said as much:

“If you had asked me six months ago, I would have had said the door was closed and locked, that was not gonna happen. But over the last few months, there has no doubt been a thawing between Kyrie and LeBron and Kyrie has become to be more open to joining the Lakers and has done some research on the organization.”

Done some research on the organization? What the hell does that even mean?

I would love to see him join Queen James in LaLa Land though. You’d have my new most hated player joining my all time most hated player in a place that I have been bread to hate since I was born a Celtics fan. Few things would make me happier!

And no, I would not be worried about them becoming a juggernaut and winning multiple titles together. There is no way in hell that these two will be able to put all their differences aside on a team with a front office that can’t even hold their shit together themselves.

I don’t care if they got Anthony Davis too. Lebron being who Lebron is, he would not give up the necessary minutes and spotlight in order to have the team succeed with AD there along with Irving.

Oh please, the Knicks never get anything they want. Remember when everyone and their mother was saying they were all but confirmed to get the number one pick? Yeah, NY ended up with the 3rd pick.

Durant and Irving would be enough to vault the Knicks a few spots in the Eastern Conference, but like everything Kyrie touches, it would implode.

Durant is one of, if not, the most dramatic superstar we have in the league today. Add spotlight obsessed Kyrie to that and you have a ticking time bomb. How long would it take for Irving to figure out that, once again, he is not the star on the team and start to rebel or talk shit about his teammates to the media? And then how long would it take for Durant to hop onto Twitter as one of his burner accounts and talk shit right back?

Kyrie needs to go to like, the Suns or something. He’ll be the big star there, he’ll get all the statistics he craves and he’ll slowly wallow into obscurity. Hell, bring Durant over there too so we can all watch you two throw subliminal messages at each other all year and miss the playoffs.
